Job summary

Nationwide Children's Hospital in Columbus, OH, seeks a skilled professional to support non-invasive diagnostics, performing EKGs, rhythm strips, Holter and Zio monitoring in clinic, inpatient and outpatient settings.

You will assist with patient testing, communicate with patients and caregivers, and help with related clerical tasks to ensure smooth flow of the Heart Center services.

Essential Functions

• Assists providers in conducting diagnostic tests within clinic, inpatient, and outpatient areas.
• Prepares effectively for the testing and explains testing procedure at different levels based on patient age.
• Records information obtained from diagnostic tests accurately and provides quality reports to ordering providers
• Communicates compassionately and effectively with patients and caregivers.
• Collaborates across boundaries with teamwork related behaviors.
• Assists with other clerical responsibilities such as billing and auditing, cleaning and disinfection of equipment, and answering the telephone.

Education Requirement

• High School Diploma or equivalent, required.
• Post-Secondary school within a healthcare related field, preferred.

Certifications

BLS, required.

Skills

• Strong written, verbal and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work with patients of all ages (pediatric to adult).
• Ability to function with flexibility and adaptability to an ever changing and fast paced environment.

Experience

One year of healthcare related experience, preferred.
