Job summary

Nationwide Children's Hospital is seeking a dedicated Cardiovascular Support Specialist to join the Cardiology department. The role rotates with Sonographers, Exercise Physiologists, Technicians, and Monitoring staff to support daily clinical and clerical processes.

  • Supports billing, auditing, and communications within the department.

Job Description Summary

Rotates support alongside Sonographers; Exercise Physiologists and Technicians; Monitor Specialists; and Cardiology Technicians for daily clinical and clerical processes. Requires an extensive understanding of the products and services performed by the department with a focus on high-impact activities.

Overview

Fulltime, Benefits eligible role. Day shift, Mon-Fr.

Essential Functions
  • Schedules multidisciplinary testing procedures; monitor patient/staff flow and operation within assigned area.
  • Assists in coordinating diagnostic tests.
  • Performs basic cardiac testing procedures according to test requests such as EKG, and application of heart monitoring devices; and provide quality reports to ordering providers.
  • Facilitates diagnostic outside interpretations.
  • Provides timely and efficient billing and auditing processes.
  • Facilitates electronic transfer of echocardiographic images to and from outside institutions.
  • Provides clerical tasks associated with advanced and routine diagnostic testing procedures, including interpretation facilitation, distribution, verbal and written correspondence, documentation, and records management.
Education Requirement
  • High school graduate or equivalent, required.
  • Post-Secondary school within a healthcare related field preferred.
Certifications

CPR certification, required.

Skills
  • Demonstrated emotional intelligence skills.
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal skills with an acute attention to detail.
  • Ability to work with patients of all ages (pediatric to adult).
  • Ability to function with flexibility and adaptability to an ever changing and fast paced environment.
  • Knowledge of a wide variety of equipment used with the specialty of Cardiology.
Experience

1 year of healthcare related experience, preferred.
