Job summary

The Heart Center in Columbus, OH is seeking a Medical Assistant for Non-Invasive Diagnostics to support EKG testing, Holter monitoring, and patient care across clinic, inpatient, and outpatient settings.

You will prepare patients, explain procedures by age, record results accurately, and collaborate with physicians while maintaining compassionate communication. Clerical duties and equipment cleaning are also required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• BLS certification is required.
• Strong written, verbal and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work with patients of all ages (pediatric to adult).
• One year of healthcare-related experience preferred.
• Ability to perform the listed physical requirements including lifting and handling biohazard waste.

Responsibilities

• Support diagnostic testing procedures (EKG, Holter, Zio) and record results.
• Assist providers in testing across clinic, inpatient, and outpatient settings.

Job description

• Works under the direction of the Non-Invasive Diagnostics Supervisor and the Service Line Administrator for The Heart Center.
• Performs diagnostic testing procedures provided by the Non-Invasive Diagnostics Department, including EKG and Rhythm Strip, Holter and Zio Monitoring, and 30 Day Event Monitoring.
• Directly supports daily clinic functions with patient testing needs and additional responsibilities within outpatient and inpatient modalities.
• Assists providers in conducting diagnostic tests within clinic, inpatient, and outpatient areas.
• Prepares for testing and explains testing procedures at different levels based on patient age.
• Accurately records information obtained from diagnostic tests and provides quality reports to ordering providers.
• Communicates compassionately and effectively with patients and caregivers.
• Collaborates across boundaries with teamwork-related behaviors.
• Assists with clerical responsibilities such as billing and auditing, cleaning and disinfecting equipment, and answering the telephone.
