Job summary

The Brigham and Women's Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse to plan and provide patient care for assigned patients in accordance with Nursing Standards of Care and the department's guidelines. The RN demonstrates initiative, knowledge and clinical skills in caring for patients with complex needs and is directly responsible to a nurse manager or supervisor.

Newly licensed nurses must have a BSN and hold Massachusetts RN registration.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved nursing program with Massachusetts RN registration.
• For newly licensed nurses, a BSN is required.
• Current inpatient medical cardiology experience required.
• PA line experience preferred.
• Membership in professional organizations is recommended and certification encouraged.
• Able to work weekend rotation per the MNA contract.

Responsibilities

• Organizes patient care and assesses planning and evaluation for assigned patients.
• Maintains clear communication for continuity of care.
• Documents care according to nursing standards and education plans.
• Develops discharge plans with referrals to community resources.
• Collaborates with other disciplines to achieve patient outcomes.
• Participates in unit and organizational quality improvement programs.
