Job summary

Brigham and Women's Hospital, Inc. is seeking a Registered Nurse to provide professional nursing care for assigned patients in accordance with Nursing Standards of Care. The role requires a Massachusetts RN license and a BSN for newly licensed nurses.

Experience in acute care and cardiology is preferred. The RN will plan, implement and evaluate care, communicate clearly, and participate in education and discharge planning.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved school of nursing with current registration in Massachusetts.
• For newly licensed nurses a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing is required.
• Prior acute care inpatient experience preferred.
• Prior medical cardiology experience preferred.
• Membership in professional organizations is recommended and certification in a specialty area is encouraged.

Responsibilities

• Organizes patient care by assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating a plan of care for a specific patient assignment.
• Maintains continuity with clear, concise communication and sets priorities for varying acuity.
• Documents care clearly and complies with nursing documentation standards.
• Delivers education to patient and family and develops discharge planning with referrals.
