Job summary

Kansas Health System is seeking a Cardiology Nurse (RN) to join the Cardiovascular Procedures team in Olathe. The role includes coverage of stress testing and procedures like transesophageal echocardiograms, cardioversions, tilt tables, CCTAs and NIPS.

Hours are days, M-F, 8-hour shifts, with CV Center hours 6:30-4:30. The nurse provides comprehensive care from assessment to evaluation, collaborates with the health care team, and ensures safe, quality patient care.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in nursing.
• 2+ years RN experience.
• Current active RN license in good standing.

Responsibilities

• Critically evaluate emergencies and initiate intervention with physician recommendations.
• Facilitate efficient patient workflow in clinic; manage patient lists and triage admissions/discharges.
• Assist discharge planning with care coordination and home care arrangements.
• Educate patients/families on new medications and therapy.
• Enter labs and imaging results into EMR; communicate results and physician recommendations.
• Perform venipuncture and EKGs as needed.
• Arrange follow-up appointments through scheduling and CV follow-up forms.
• Coordinate with outpatient cardiology staff for management.
• Support initiatives to meet length of stay and disease management outcomes.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
