Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN) or must be able to obtain a BSN within three years of their date of hire.
• 2 years of professional nursing experience in specialty area.
• Louisiana State Board of Nursing – Registered Nurse License
• American Heart Association – Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification

Responsibilities

• Coordinates communication relating to the medical treatment plan among patient, family, physician, staff, and other team members.
• Facilitates appointments and supports the care continuum across inpatient and outpatient settings.
• Reviews medical documentation to assist physicians in obtaining complete and accurate care plans.
• Serves as a link between patients and all care providers; educates patients and families about diagnosis, treatment options, and resources.
• Supports policy reviews and may contribute to updates or new policies to improve practice.
• Participates in community education events such as health fairs, screenings, and lectures.
