Job summary

Advocate Health’s Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn is seeking a Registered Nurse to lead the telemetry team on 9 West. This 36-hour-week, full-time role requires LI expertise with LVAD patients and cardiovascular surgical care.

You will direct staff, coordinate resources, and ensure safe, high-quality patient care across shifts. The ideal candidate holds a BSN or is progressing toward it, with a valid RN license and BLS, and has clinical nursing experience in an acute care setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or Health Related Field; or Associate Degree and enrolled in BSN within 2 years of hire and complete BSN within 5 years.
• Typically requires 3 years of clinical nursing experience in acute care.

Responsibilities

• Provides work direction to clinical and support staff to coordinate resources for procedures and patient flow.
• Delivers direct patient care using the nursing process to ensure safe, therapeutic, and quality care.
• Coordinates patient care by promoting communication among patients, families, departments, and medical staff.
• Acts as a resource, providing training, orientation and guidance on complex issues with unit leadership.
• Assists with HR responsibilities including interviewing and staff concerns in collaboration with leadership.
• Monitors staffing levels and ensures productivity within the unit.
• Ensures policies and procedures comply with medical center and regulatory standards.
• Assists in budgeting and ensures supplies and equipment are available for safe patient care.
