Job summary

UNC Medical Center in Chapel Hill, NC is seeking a Clinical Nurse II for the Cardiology PREP/Recovery team. The role involves providing skilled nursing care in a cardiology recovery setting with a focus on education, timely care coordination, and interdisciplinary collaboration.

The position requires NC RN licensure, BLS certification, and at least one year of nursing experience, with a Monday–Friday, 12-hour shift pattern and no weekend requirements.

Qualifications

• Graduation from a school of professional nursing.
• If hired after January 6, 2014, must be enrolled within four years of employment and obtain a BSN or MSN within seven years of employment date.
• Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in North Carolina and BLS for Healthcare Provider certification.

Responsibilities

• Provides competent clinical nursing care in a hospital setting.
• Coordinates and delivers patient care using the nursing process.
• Educates patients and families; assesses readiness to learn.
• Evaluates care outcomes and revises the plan with the interdisciplinary team.
