Job summary

UNC Health Care in Chapel Hill is seeking a per diem Clinical Nurse for the newly transformed 7 Bedtower into a Cardiology Unit. You will provide competent cardiac nursing care and participate in building a high‑impact clinical environment from the ground up.

The role offers shift differentials, flexible self‑scheduling, and opportunities to influence unit workflows and clinical practices while supporting professional growth and cardiovascular care excellence.

Qualifications

• Graduation from a school of professional nursing.
• Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in North Carolina.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider certification.
• One year of relevant and current experience.

Responsibilities

• Provides competent clinical nursing care consistent with professional standards and coordinates patient care using the nursing process in a hospital setting.
• Participates in identifying and meeting learning needs; attends education programs; assesses readiness to learn of patient/family/caregivers.
• Evaluates care by identifying expected outcomes and communicates with the interdisciplinary team to promote continuity of care.
• Demonstrates leadership to promote professional growth, interdepartmental collaboration, and cost-effective care.
• Assesses data from complex situations, prioritizes care, and plans with patient/family using available multidisciplinary resources.
