Job summary

Baylor Scott & White Health is seeking a Physician Assistant to provide direct patient care in specialty clinics. The role includes prescriptive authority, credentialing, and independent billing with Medicare/Medicaid under physician supervision.

Clinics may include Palliative Care, Pulmonary, Infectious Disease, Endocrinology, and other specialties. Expect to assess patients, order tests, interpret results, and contribute to treatment plans while counseling patients and families.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited PA program.
• TX PA license required.
• NCCPA certification required.
• BLS certification within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Assesses physical and mental condition; performs exams and takes histories.
• Orders, collects, interprets tests; evaluates health needs.
• Prescribes or recommends therapies; follows approved protocols.
• Develops comprehensive treatment plans with physicians and team.
• Counsels patients and families on medical processes, medications, nutrition, and health promotion.
• Maintains and documents treatment plans and outcomes; initiates referrals as needed.
• Provides consultation within specialty and training; manages patients in non-primary settings.
• Performs invasive procedures within scope of practice as delegated by supervising physician.
• May cover additional patient care duties based on department coverage needs.
