Job summary

MedStar Health in Annapolis is seeking a Front Desk/Patient Services Associate to greet patients and support efficient patient flow. You will register patients, collect co-pays, and update demographics and insurance information.

The role requires excellent customer service, basic medical terminology knowledge, and the ability to work in a dynamic care environment. Training provided, with a strong emphasis on patient experience.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• One year of relevant education may substitute for one year of required work experience.
• Less than 1 year 6 months - 1 year experience providing high quality customer service required, preferably in a health care setting.
• Experience with IDX/GE Centricity preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and coordinate patient flow through the practice.
• Manage intake: schedule appointments, verify insurance, collect co-pays, and explain patient responsibility.
• Process Time-of-Service payments and post charges.
• Answer phones and provide telephone triage, routing messages appropriately.
• Prepare and maintain patient records and update demographic/insurance information.
• Contact patients regarding missed appointments and monitor no-shows.
