Job summary

Allegheny Health Network seeks a Physician Assistant to deliver specialty and critical care services within their PA scope, across outpatient, non-acute, and inpatient settings. The role may include rounds, triage, and coordination with the care team, ensuring adherence to scope, standards, and organizational policies.

The position may require evenings, weekends, holidays, and on-call duties, with potential for 24/7 coverage depending on role and setting.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Physician Assistant Studies is required.
• Current PA Physician Assistant License is required.
• PA-C or board eligible is required or pending.
• Substitutions: four to ten years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Facilitates effective diagnostic and emergency care for patients in outpatient and acute inpatient settings, orders and interprets tests, and communicates significant changes to the attending physician.
• Prescribes medications, administers injections, and may perform minor bedside surgical procedures within PA scope.
• Coordinates complex care with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams, initiating consultations for higher-level decisions.
• Provides specialized care in critical care and inpatient settings, ensuring accurate and timely documentation.
