Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Physician Assistant Studies and current PA license are required.

Responsibilities

• Provides patient care including recording medical history and physical assessment and developing a therapeutic plan in physician offices and non-acute settings.
• Orders, interprets, and evaluates labs and diagnostic studies to guide treatment.
• Makes medical diagnoses and initiates appropriate therapy.
• Institutes emergency measures in acute patient situations such as cardiac arrest, hemorrhage, or shock.
• Maintains EMR documentation for accurate coding and billing.
• Educates patients and families on health, medications, and community resources.
• Communicates with attending physicians regarding plan of care and seeks guidance as needed.
• Maintains continuing education and participates in safety and quality initiatives.
• Performs specialty procedures with privileging as required.

Master’s degree in Physician Assistant Studies

MSN from the practicing State Board of Nursing Approved Master’s Program

Prescriptive Authority from the practicing state

Drug Enforcement Agency Licensure

CPR - American Heart Association

ACLS certification

Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance Certificate

Act 34 Criminal Background Clearance Certificate
