Job summary

Allegheny Health Network seeks a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to provide specialty and critical care within their scope. The role covers both inpatient and outpatient settings, with possible 24/7 coverage and rotational shifts.

Responsibilities include emergency care, medication management, and coordination with the care team and families. Prior PA/NP experience in a procedural or emergency setting is preferred.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree required for physician assistant or NP practice.
• Active PA license or NP license with board certification or eligibility.
• Current CPR and ACLS certifications preferred or required by role.
• State licensure and DEA registration within stated timelines.
• Background clearances as per regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

• Facilitates diagnostic and emergency care in outpatient and inpatient settings.
• Prepare and electronically prescribe medications; perform minor procedures.
• Coordinate complex care with families and interdisciplinary teams.
• Maintain accurate medical records reflecting care provided.
• Educate patients and families; ensure continuity of care across settings.
• Participate in hospital rounds and triage patient inquiries.
• Engage in continuing education and quality improvement initiatives.
• Assist in surgical, interventional radiology, or fluoroscopic procedures.
