Job summary

Bay Area Cardiology Associates in the Tampa Bay area seeks an experienced Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join its cardiovascular team in a full-time capacity.

The role combines outpatient clinic work with inpatient hospital care across several cardiovascular specialties, with flexible primary office locations (Tampa, Brandon, Riverview, Sun City Center) and a collaboration-focused environment.

Qualifications

• Active Florida license or ability to obtain before starting.
• Minimum of two years of APP experience.
• Cardiology, hospital medicine, or acute care experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and manage patients with acute and chronic cardiovascular conditions.
• Conduct new patient consultations and follow-up appointments.
• Participate in hospital rounding and inpatient cardiovascular consultations.
• Order and review EKGs, labs, imaging, stress tests, and other diagnostics.
• Develop and manage treatment plans with the cardiology team.
• Coordinate medications and referrals.
• Educate patients on diagnoses, treatments, and cardiovascular health.
• Share weekend coverage rotation.

Cardiology Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant

Tampa Bay, Florida | Outpatient and Inpatient Cardiology

Bay Area Cardiology Associates is seeking an experienced Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join its established cardiovascular team in the Tampa Bay area.

This full-time position combines outpatient cardiology with inpatient hospital responsibilities. The incoming APP may select a primary office location in Tampa, Brandon, Riverview, or Sun City Center and will collaborate with cardiologists and advanced practice providers across several cardiovascular specialties.

Position Highlights

• Choice of primary office in Tampa, Brandon, Riverview, or Sun City Center

• Monday–Friday schedule

• Shared weekend rotation approximately once per month

• Combination of outpatient clinic and inpatient hospital care

Responsibilities

• Educate patients regarding diagnoses, treatments, medications, and cardiovascular health

• Participate in the shared weekend coverage rotation

Qualifications

• Board-certified Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant

• Active Florida license or ability to obtain one before starting

• Minimum of two years of experience as an Advanced Practice Provider

• Cardiology, hospital medicine, or acute care experience strongly preferred

• Acute Care NP or Adult-Gerontology Acute Care NP certification preferred

• Strong clinical judgment and communication skills
