Job summary

UNC Health Rex Healthcare seeks a Cardiology Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join the busiest cardiology service in the UNC Health System. You will operate with substantial autonomy, under cardiology supervision, and provide high‑quality care to patients on a 24/7 service line.

Experience in cardiology preferred; NC licensure as APN/PA is required along with appropriate certifications. Night shift, on‑site work, and a strong emphasis on teamwork and patient‑centered care are

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited graduate‑level Advanced Practice Provider (APRN or PA) program.
• Licensed as an Advanced Practice Provider in North Carolina (e.g., NP or PA).
• Board certification as required; DEA license may be required.

Responsibilities

• Provide high quality, cost effective care within APP scope of practice in collaboration with supervising physician.
• Obtain health history, perform assessments, and develop treatment plans with evidence‑based pharmacology.
• Educate patients and families; lead education for clinicians and students as needed.
• Participate in quality improvement and lead projects to enhance patient care.
• Maintain accurate documentation and participate in on‑site 24/7 cardiology coverage.
