Job summary

Brown University Health in Providence, RI, seeks a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to oversee a cardiology caseload in an acute in-hospital setting. You will work with the Medical Director of Cardiology to coordinate care across the continuum and provide education and leadership to the care team.

The role requires RN or PA/NP licensure in Rhode Island, appropriate graduate training, prescriptive privileges, and BLS/ACLS certification, with cardiology experience preferred.

Qualifications

• RN licensure in RI or via Nurse Licensure Compact
• BSN or equivalent
• MSN or NP program graduate with prescriptive privileges in RI
• PA route: BS + graduate study in accredited PA program with RI licensure
• BLS and ACLS certifications
• 2 years RN experience in acute care; 1–2 years NP or PA experience; cardiology experience preferred; EPIC experience a plus

Responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of patients in partnership with the healthcare team to optimize health status and coordinate care.
• Oversee development, validation, implementation, and evaluation of standards, policies, procedures, and critical paths.
• Identify admission needs via triage from ED, inpatient care, and discharge planning.
• Provide patient/family education and participate in mentoring of healthcare providers.
• Possibly rotate to Cardiology Procedural Care Unit and/or Advanced Heart Failure service; participate in clinical research.
