Locums - Grass Valley, California, Non-Invasive Cardiology Job

Clinical Role:

Coverage Dates:

• June 2-4
• June 6
• June 16-18
• June 20-23
• June 30
• Ongoing each month

Schedule: 24-hour call from 6 a.m. to 6 a.m.

EMR: Cerner

Reason for Coverage: ER Call

Setting: Inpatient

Admissions per Day: Average 3-4 consults, Supervised stress tests: 4-8, Echocardiograms: 5-12

Duties: Consult patients in ED and inpatients, collaborate with Hospitalists and Specialists, supervise stress tests (pharmacological/exercise), interpret outpatient and inpatient echocardiograms, Holter, and event monitors.

Optional / Ideal Procedures: The ideal candidate can perform TEE; optional procedures include transvenous pacing and tilt table interpretation.

Types of Cases: Typical non-interventional community hospital cardiology cases.

Residency and Certification Requirements: Current certification in Internal Medicine and active participation in the certification process leading to added qualifications in cardiovascular medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine or the American Osteopathic Board of Internal Medicine, to be achieved within five years of residency completion; or successful completion of an accredited fellowship in cardiovascular medicine with at least three years devoted to cardiovascular medicine.

Hospital Privileges: Privileges at a Joint Commission (or equivalent) accredited hospital for two of the last four years.

Support Staff: Cardiology Manager, Echocardiographers, and Cardiology Technicians.

Additional Requirements: Board certification in Internal Medicine or Cardiology or Board Eligible within 5 years; CA license; clean malpractice background (highly preferred); local candidates (highly preferred).
