Job description

This East GA Hospital in Augusta, GA is recruiting a board-certified/board-eligible Non-invasive Cardiologist with a strong knowledge and skill set in diagnosing and treating cardiovascular disease.

The Hospital is a 581-bed community facility specializing in adult care across two campuses, with multiple cardiology clinics throughout Richmond and Columbia Counties in Augusta. Due to increased access, we are expanding general cardiology services to include a 40 to 50-mile footprint in South Carolina.

The selected Cardiologist will work with a team of advanced practice providers and nursing professionals. Mobile cardiac diagnostics will be available. Inpatient rounding occurs every fifth week, with an on-call ratio of 1:10.

Staffing includes twenty-five cardiologists supporting Interventional Cardiology, Structural Heart, Electrophysiology, and Advanced Congestive Heart Failure, along with fourteen Advanced Practice Providers.

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Provide excellent cardiovascular care in outpatient and inpatient settings.
  • Manage chronic cardiovascular conditions, including ordering appropriate imaging and lab tests and recommending treatment plans based on patient needs.
  • Perform accurate interpretation of lab tests, EKGs, chest X-rays, and echocardiograms.
  • Coordinate care with hospitalists, primary care physicians, cardiology colleagues, and other specialists. Participate in meetings focused on risk management, quality improvement, clinical efficiency, and patient satisfaction.

Qualifications:

  • Graduate of an accredited medical school.
  • Completion of a cardiac imaging fellowship with Board certification in Echo.
  • Expertise in cardiac CT and cardiac MRI (MRAs).

Compensation: Base salary competitive with MGMA median.
