Job summary

Advocate Health in the Charlotte area is seeking a Medical Assistant for our Cardiology department to support patient intake, rooming, and routine tests. You will perform vital signs, assist with procedures, venipuncture, and basic lab duties, while maintaining safety, accuracy, and compassionate patient care.

This full-time role offers a 40-hour work week, 8:00am-4:30pm, and a sign-on bonus eligibility. Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED and completion of an accredited Medical

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program.
• Structured military training which is clinical in nature may be considered in lieu of a formal program.
• IL/WI: 2 years of verifiable full-time Medical Assistant experience within the last 5 years.

Responsibilities

• Adheres to Medical Assistant scope of practice and follows policies.
• Performs rooming/vital signs, history taking, medication reconciliation, and screenings.
• Assists provider with procedures as ordered.
• Performs lab duties including venipuncture and POCT per protocol.
• Administers medications and vaccines following safety rules.
• Handles referrals, scheduling, and patient messaging as needed.
• Maintains clean work environment and stocked supplies.
• Demonstrates effective communication and teamwork.
