Job summary

US Heart and Vascular is seeking a Full-Time Medical Assistant to join Heartland Cardiology in Wichita, KS. Responsibilities include assisting physicians, taking vital signs, performing EKGs, and processing patient information in the clinic environment.

The ideal candidate has a High School diploma or equivalent, 1 year of medical office experience, and BLS certification within 1 month of hire. Certification is preferred but not required, with phlebotomy experience a plus.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Medical Assistant certification preferred but not required.
• 1 year of medical office experience required.
• 2 years of phlebotomy experience preferred but not required.
• BLS certification within 1 month of hire.

Responsibilities

• Greet and direct outpatients, visitors, and families to waiting areas and exam rooms.
• Perform venipuncture (if trained) and finger sticks on lab patients for processing.
• Assist with scheduling TeleMed or Doxyme appointments and provide patient instruction.
• Assist physician and staff with procedures and take vital signs, weight, and positioning.
• Review medications with patients and document in computer.
• Communicate physician delays to patients and monitor them until arrival.
• Perform EKGs as ordered by physician.
• Obtain patient information per clinic protocol and organize schedules.
• Keep staff informed of pertinent patient information and sanitize exam rooms daily.
• Make referrals for providers with nurse guidance and document referrals.

Education

High School diploma or equivalent

Medical Assistant certification preferred but not required

1-year medical office experience required

2 years of phlebotomy experience preferred

BLS certification within 1 month of hire
