Job summary

US Heart and Vascular is seeking a Full-Time Medical Assistant to join Heartland Cardiology in Wichita, KS. You will greet patients, schedule appointments, perform basic procedures, and support physicians during visits in a fast-paced outpatient setting.

Qualifications include a High School diploma or GED, 1 year medical office experience, and BLS within 1 month of hire; Medical Assistant certification preferred but not required. Monday–Friday shifts with comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED is required or equivalent.
• Medical Assistant certification preferred but not required.
• 1 year medical office experience required.
• 2 years phlebotomy experience preferred but not required.
• BLS certification within 1 month of hire.

Responsibilities

• Greet and direct outpatients, visitors, and families in a pleasant and caring manner.
• Perform venipuncture (if trained) and finger sticks on lab patients for processing.
• Assist with scheduling TeleMed or Doxyme appointments and provide patient instruction.
• Assist physician and staff with procedures (vital signs, weight, positioning, etc.).
• Review current medications with patients and document in computer.
• Communicate physician delays to patients and monitor until physician enters exam room.
• Perform EKG on patients as ordered by physician.
• Obtain and document patient information per physician's protocol.
• Know incoming physician schedules to organize appointments and issue memos.
• Keep clinic staff informed of pertinent information regarding patients.
• Clean and sanitize the exam room after each patient and at close of day.
• Make referrals for providers with guidance from the provider’s nurse.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
