Job summary

Sanford Health in Marshfield, WI is seeking a Medical Assistant to function within ambulatory care guidelines and support providers in patient exams, data collection and care coordination. The MA will obtain vital signs, prepare patients, and communicate care plans under supervision.

Qualifications include graduation from an MA program, or completion of related coursework, with BLS within six months. Certification or registration as MA (CMA/CCMA/CMAC/NCMA/RMA) is preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a recognized Medical Assistant program or completion of courses in Medical Terminology, Anatomy & Physiology and Pharmacology.
• Two years' MA experience required if education not met at hire.
• Prior healthcare experience preferred.
• BLS certification required within six months of employment.
• Nationally certified or registered MA (CMA/CCMA/CMAC/NCMA) or RMA acceptable.
• ND MAIII registration if in North Dakota, with 4 months to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Obtain vital signs and prepare patients for examinations.
• Observe and report patient signs or symptoms to the provider.
• Perform point-of-care testing as directed.
• Communicate the provider's care instructions to patient or caregiver.
• Assist in patient care across the lifespan under supervision.
