Job Description

General Purpose of Job:

Working as part of a team to provide quality patient care and assist with the daily functions of the physician and device clinic.

Essential Duties:

This job description covers the minimum essential duties assigned regularly. Caregivers may be asked to perform additional duties as assigned by their leader. Leadership has the right to alter or modify the duties of the position.

• Assist with patients.
• Enter data into electronic medical records. Prepare patients for examinations. Obtain vital signs and chief complaints. Appropriately document information obtained.
• Maintain and stock clinic supplies and exam rooms.
• Engage in and promote patient/family teaching as appropriate; provide an educational environment for patients and their families.
• Maintain and clean equipment and ensure environmental safety.
• Provide clerical services as required to ensure effective practice flow.

Additional clerical and other duties may be assigned by the Manager of Patient Care, starting with the most essential.

Job Requirements

Work Experience:

Six (6) months of clinical patient care experience in a multi-physician clinic is preferred. Experience with electronic medical record systems is preferred.

Education:

High school diploma, GED, or successful completion of 12th grade, combined with continued enrollment in an early college program. Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant, Cardio Tech, EMT, Paramedic, or LPN program.

Specialized Knowledge and Skills:

• Ability to work as part of a team to provide quality patient care.
• Demonstrates a positive team attitude and effective interpersonal communication skills with clients, families, providers, and co-workers.
• Necessary visual and auditory acuity to monitor patient’s condition and operate department equipment.
• Ability to use a keyboard to perform essential job duties.
