Indiana University Health in Lafayette is seeking a full-time Medical Assistant for a Cardiology clinic. The role requires 40 hours per week (5 shifts, M-F), no weekends or travel, rooming and discharging patients, and performing some administrative duties to keep patient flow smooth.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program.
• AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Knowledge of OSHA/CLIA required.
• Knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT coding.
• Current MA certifications (CMA/RMA/CCMA/NCMA/CMAC) preferred or required by unit.

Responsibilities

• Room patients and discharge procedures.
• Handle administrative front-office tasks as needed.
• Perform general lab work and assist with procedures.
• Maintain EMR files and support patient flow.
• Register and schedule appointments per policy.
• Precept MA team members as requested by leadership.

Education

High school diploma or equivalent

Medical Assistant program graduation

AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

OSHA/CLIA knowledge

ICD-10 and CPT coding knowledge
