Job summary

The Covenant Health Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge invites an experienced Licensed Practical Nurse to join the Cardiology Unit on the night shift. This full-time role (72 hours per pay period) provides direct patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, and participates in patient education and care planning according to current standards.

Candidates must be a graduate of an accredited practical nursing program and hold Tennessee LPN licensure, with CPR/ACLS/NALS

Qualifications

• Must be a graduate of an accredited school of practical nursing.
• Knowledge of general nursing theory and practice; hospital policies and procedures; infection control; fire and safety regulations.
• Bio-psychosocial needs of adult, geriatric and pediatric patients where applicable.
• Experience in department specialty preferred.
• Must be currently licensed by the Tennessee Board of Nursing as an LPN; CPR/ACLS/NALS certifications or recertification during orientation.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct nursing care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.
• Assists with and documents patient/family health education.
• Assesses patient needs and formulates/initiates nursing care plans.
• Demonstrates infection control principles and safety compliance.
• Communicates patient progress to the team leader.
• Participates in orientation of new personnel.
• Performs other indirect care duties as assigned.
• Follows directions accurately and adheres to hospital policies.
