Job summary

Methodist Medical Center is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Heart-Lung-Vascular unit. This full-time role operates on a night shift with a 72-hour per pay period schedule, focusing on adult patient care in a dynamic cardiovascular team.

The ideal candidate is a graduate of an accredited nursing program, licensed in Tennessee, with CPR/ACLS/NALS/BLS certifications and a commitment to evidence-based practice and patient safety.

Qualifications

• Must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Knowledge of the nursing process and hospital policies.
• Understanding of etiology, pathophysiology and prognosis for illnesses.
• Experience in department specialty preferred.
• RN licensure by Tennessee Board of Nursing (or temporary permit).
• CPR/ACLS/NALS/BLS life support certification required or scheduled.

Responsibilities

• Assess and identify patients' physiological and psychosocial needs.
• Develop individualized nursing care plan with measurable outcomes.
• Ensure care plan aligns with medical plan and standards.
• Assign tasks using patient acuity data and maintain team accountability.
• Adhere to hospital/department policies and regulations.
• Demonstrate infection control and collaborate with infection control team.
• Participate in orientation of new personnel and teaching.
• Document review/update of each patient’s plan every 24 hours.
• Other duties as assigned.
