Job summary

The role requires a Bachelor's in Exercise Physiology; a Master's is preferred. ACSM-CEP or eligibility, BLS HCP, and ACLS within 6 months of hire are expected, with 1 year of related experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Exercise Physiology required; Master's Degree preferred.
• Exercise Physiologist certified by ACSM or eligible to test for the same.
• ACSM-CEP preferred, required for stress testing.
• BLS HCP certification required.
• ACLS required within 6 months of hire.
• One year of related experience preferred.
• If performing stress tests, completion of exercise physiology competencies for pharmacological stress testing agents required.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and perform exercise and/or pharmacological stress testing per ACSM/AHA/ACC and Diagnostic Cardiology policies.
• Assess contraindications by reviewing H&P, labs, and prior testing; coordinate with ordering provider or Cardiologist.
• Explain procedure, verify order, and confirm patient identity.
• Assist with transferring patients and adjusting positioning for safety.
• Recognize ECG changes and arrhythmias pre-, during, and post-test.
• Communicate abnormal results to physicians and staff.
• Respond promptly to emergencies and be ready to cross-train with related staff.
