Job summary

The Baylor Scott & White Health Physician Assistant Medical Specialty role is a licensed provider delivering direct patient care with prescriptive authority. Working in specialty clinics, you may focus on nephrology among other areas.

You will be credentialed, privileged, and billed as an independent provider by Medicare/Medicaid, under supervising physicians' scope of practice. Responsibilities include comprehensive exams, ordering tests, planning treatment, counseling patients, and maintaining

Qualifications

• Education: Grad of an Accredited PA program.
• Experience: Less than 1 year of experience.
• Certification/Registration: BLS within 30 days; TX PA license; NCCPA certification.

Responsibilities

• Assesses patients with comprehensive or problem-focused exams and histories.
• Orders and interprets laboratory and diagnostic tests.
• Prescribes or recommends medications and therapies following protocols.
• Develops and implements treatment plans with physicians and team.
• Counsels patients and families on medical processes, medications, nutrition, and health promotion.
• Maintains patient records detailing treatments and outcomes.
• Provides consultation within the specialty and supports care in non-primary clinic settings.
• Performs procedures as delegated by supervising physician.
• May participate in patient care duties beyond regular schedule based on coverage needs.
