Job summary

Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston is seeking a Patient Care Technician – Intermediate Cardiology on a full-time rotating schedule. You will collaborate with the inpatient nursing team on care plans for patients with advanced heart failure and post-procedural acuity, supporting safety and daily activities.

The role requires a High School diploma or GED and patient care experience; CNA/LNA, MA, EMT, or PCT certifications are preferred.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• 0-1 years related work experience required.
• Patient care experience preferred (CNA/LNA, MA, ED Tech, EMT, PCT or nursing student with clinical rotation).
• Completion of BIDMC in-house training program.
• Allied Health, Pre-Med or Physician Assistant program candidates considered.
• Basic familiarity with computers; ability to navigate basic web-based applications.

Responsibilities

• Collaborates with a registered nurse to develop a patient care plan.
• Develops and maintains competencies as delegated by a registered nurse.
• Maintains patient safety using nursing safety interventions or protective devices under supervision.
• Reports all patient activity to the registered nurse in a timely manner.
