Job summary

WVU Medicine is seeking an Advanced Practice Professional to coordinate and deliver comprehensive cardiology care across inpatient and ambulatory settings. The role involves collaboration with medical and surgical teams, performance of diagnostic procedures, and oversight of discharge planning and follow-up.

The candidate will participate in teaching residents and nursing students while maintaining compliance with state licensure, BLS, and ALS requirements.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a CCNE-accredited nursing program with Master’s Degree in Nursing.
• National Certification by recognized APRN Certification Centers.
• Licensure or eligibility for licensure as RN and APRN in West Virginia.
• BLS Certification with additional Advanced Life Support training at department discretion.

Responsibilities

• Manages comprehensive and individualized cardiology patient care in inpatient and ambulatory settings.
• Performs rounds, pre-procedure evaluations, and diagnostic tests with results communicated clearly.
• Collaborates with cardiology faculty and follows clinical guidelines to order tests and referrals.
• Coordinates discharge planning and follow-up care with the health care team.
• Educates residents and students and supports clinical staff with teaching strategies.
