Job summary

West Virginia University Health System in Triadelphia is seeking an Advanced Practice Professional to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care as part of an interdisciplinary team. You will assess, diagnose, treat, and manage patients within scope, collaborating with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.

The role requires a Master’s in Nursing, national APRN certification, WV licensure or eligibility, and BLS with ALS/ACLS as needed.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a CCNE accredited nursing program with Master’s Degree in Nursing.
• National Certification by one of the recognized APRN Certification Centers.
• Current licensure or eligibility for licensure as a professional Registered Nurse and Advanced Practice Registered Nurse in West Virginia.
• Basic Life Support Certification required with additional Advanced Life Support (ALS)/Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) training as determined by the department.

Responsibilities

• Administers or orders diagnostic tests, including x-ray and POClab tests.
• Examines patients to obtain information about their physical condition.
• Instructs and counsels patients about prescribed therapeutic regimens, growth and development, emotional problems of daily living, and health maintenance.
• Interprets diagnostic test results for deviations from normal.
• Makes diagnosis and decisions about management and treatment of patients.
• Records patient medical data in Meditech EMR.
• Performs injections, immunizations, suturing and wound care.
• Prescribes therapy or medications electronically when available.
• Educates, instructs and coordinates activities with the medical assistant(s) during care and treatment.
• Provides emergency support following established policies and procedures.
• Communicates with staff and administration in support of operations.
