Job description

The ChristianaCare Center for Heart & Vascular Health is currently seeking an Advanced Heart Failure Cardiologist to join and lead our Advanced Heart Failure Program at the Center for Heart & Vascular Health.

1. Lead a multidisciplinary team of board-certified specialists, including Advanced Heart Failure and Transplant Cardiologists, Electrophysiologists, Experienced Nurse Practitioners, and Heart Failure Care Navigators, within one of the top 10 largest volume heart failure hospital systems in the United States.
2. Provide advanced heart failure care services independently, including management of left ventricular assist devices (LVADs).
3. Participate in patient care through consultative and inpatient cardiac services, patient admissions under the Advanced Heart Failure/LVAD service, outpatient care in our Heart Failure Outpatient Center, on-call coverage, and teaching opportunities with ChristianaCare's Advanced Heart Failure and Transplant Cardiology Fellowship.
4. Support the Heart & Vascular Center's initiatives to improve patient care and outcomes through innovative programs and new technologies, including virtual health care delivery, and participate in research and clinical trials.
5. Provide collaborative leadership with the leadership of the Heart and Vascular Service line, Section of Cardiology, and Medical Group.

About the Team

The ChristianaCare Advanced Heart Failure Group consists of 4 Advanced Heart Failure Doctors, along with advanced practice clinicians and support staff. Our section of Cardiology includes diverse community-based practices and a hospital-based cardiology group of 25 cardiologists and 16 advanced practice clinicians. The practice offers a busy clinical setting, opportunities for teaching Cardiology Fellows and House staff, and engagement in clinical research. The Center for Heart and Vascular Health at Christiana Hospital handles approximately 1,800 chest pain admissions annually, performs over 3,000 cardiac catheterizations, 1,400 PCIs, 1,600 EP procedures, and 880 cardiac surgeries each year. It also provides advanced heart failure services, including LVAD management. ChristianaCare is affiliated with the Sidney Kimmel Medical College at Thomas Jefferson University and partners with Pennsylvania Hospital for cardiac transplantation and transplant medicine services.
