The role includes coordinating communications, scheduling, and follow-up, while maintaining a safe, organized clinic and supporting high-quality cardiovascular care. EPIC charting is used daily.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program required.
  • Completion of Medical Scribe training required.
  • Minimum one (1) year of cardiac medicine experience required.
  • Minimum three (3) years of Medical Assistant experience required.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare patients for visits and support efficient patient flow.
  • Perform advanced noninvasive cardiac procedures (treadmill tests, stress echoes, nuclear stress tests, Holter/event monitor).
  • Manage patient communications and coordinate test result notifications.
  • Assist with scheduling, referrals, and prior authorizations.
  • Maintain a safe, clean clinical environment and adhere to infection prevention standards.
  • Collaborate with care team to support outcomes and patient experience.
  • Mentor new team members and model Presbyterian CARES values.

Compensation Pay Range:

Minimum Offer $19.25Maximum Offer $31.74

Summary:

Work alongside providers in a fast-paced cardiology environment, helping deliver exceptional patient care from start to finish. In this role, you will support patient visits, perform scribe duties, assist with treatments and procedures, and utilize advanced clinical training to conduct specialized cardiac testing, including stress tests and other diagnostic procedures. You will also provide support to the EKG Department as needed.

Responsibilities
  • Partner with providers to deliver exceptional patient care by preparing patients for visits, supporting efficient patient flow, and performing medical scribe duties.
  • Perform advanced noninvasive cardiac procedures, including treadmill exercise tolerance tests, stress echocardiograms, nuclear stress tests, and Holter/event monitor application, following established competency standards.
  • Support patients throughout their care journey by managing phone calls, documenting patient communications, coordinating test result notifications, and facilitating timely follow-up.
  • Assist with scheduling, referral management, prior authorizations, and other administrative functions to ensure seamless clinic operations.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, organized, and well-stocked clinical environment while adhering to infection prevention and regulatory standards.
  • Communicate effectively with providers and care team members to support high-quality patient outcomes and an exceptional patient experience.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to achieve operational goals, quality metrics, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Serve as a mentor and resource for new team members while modeling Presbyterian's CARES values: Collaboration, Accountability, Respect, Engagement, and Service.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support patient care and clinic success.
Qualifications
Education & Training
  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required.
  • Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program required.
  • Completion of Medical Scribe training required.
Experience
  • Minimum one (1) year of cardiac medicine experience required.
  • Minimum three (3) years of Medical Assistant experience required.
  • Strong knowledge of cardiac rhythms, arrhythmias, and cardiovascular patient care practices.
Certifications & Competencies
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) or ASHI Healthcare Provider required.
  • Successful completion of Basic Arrhythmia Class and Basic Arrhythmia Challenge Test within nine (9) months of hire.
  • Maintains all required clinical certifications and emergency response training.
  • Completes all organizational, department, and role-specific competency requirements within established timeframes.
