Job summary

Presbyterian Healthcare Services in Albuquerque, NM seeks a dedicated Medical Assistant to provide primary clinical support in a cardiology clinic. You will prepare patients, assist providers during examinations, operate cardiology diagnostic equipment, and help maintain patient flow for a high-quality care experience.

The ideal candidate has a Medical Assistant program, at least 1 year of MA experience, and BLS certification. Cardiology exposure is a plus.

Qualifications

• Completion of a Medical Assistant program from an accredited institution.
• Minimum of one year of Medical Assistant experience.
• Cardiology practice or cardiac care experience preferred.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Computer literacy required; Epic experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for provider visits by collecting and documenting accurate clinical information.
• Provide primary clinical support during examinations, treatments, and procedures.
• Safely operate cardiology equipment and assist with patient care procedures.
• Respond to patient inquiries regarding test results, refills, referrals, and care needs.
• Coordinate scheduling, reminders, and rescheduling to optimize provider availability.
• Manage referrals and prior authorizations for tests and services.
• Maintain and track patient documentation in the EMR.
• Support clinic operations; ensure rooms are clean, stocked, and organized.
