Job summary

Iredell Health System is seeking a Registered Cardio Sonographer to perform a range of echocardiography studies including transthoracic, stress, and transesophageal exams, plus treadmill tests and Holter monitoring. The role requires certification (RDCS or RCS) or equivalent experience and involves handling sensitive patient information with full data access.

Shifts are part-time at 10 hours per week, with additional responsibilities for ECGs and peripheral arterial studies.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of an accredited echocardiography program or minimum 5 years echocardiography experience in an acute care setting.
• RDCS or RCS certification is required.
• Computer skills are preferred.
• Must pass FIT test and have full range of motion with ability to lift up to 30 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Perform transthoracic, stress and transesophageal echocardiograms as listed.
• Conduct treadmill and cardiac stress testing, including exercise, pharmacologic and nuclear medicine tests.
• Perform 12-lead ECGs, peripheral arterial studies, and Holter Monitor application and scanning.
• Maintain access to patient health information and ensure data accuracy.

Description

The Registered Cardio Sonographer performs transthoracic echocardiograms, stress echocardiograms, transesophogeal echocardiograms, treadmills, cardiac stress test (including exercise, pharmacologic, and nuclear medicine), 12-lead electrocardiograms, peripheral arterial studies using segmental pressures, and Holtor Monitor (application and scanning). Has full access to patient health information.

Shift: 10 hrs. per week

Requirements

• Successful completion of an accredited echocardiography program or minimum 5 years echocardiography experience in an acute care setting.
• Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) or Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS)
• Computer skills preferred.
• Must possess full range of body motion to pass a basic FIT test to include bending, stooping, standing and sitting for extended periods of time. Must be able to lift and carry up to 30 pounds.
