Job summary

Carle Health is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to support care delivery in a high-acuity environment. The LPN will work with RNs to manage patient load, administer medications, and assist with care plans after RN assessment.

Responsibilities include IV piggyback administration, dressing changes, NG and ostomy care, and ongoing coordination with physicians and APPs. This role emphasizes teamwork and patient safety.

Qualifications

• Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) certification required.
• BLS certification within 30 days of hire required.
• College diploma: Licensed Practical Nurse required.

Responsibilities

• Passes medications and administers IV piggybacks/fluids as directed by RN.
• Charts assessments on assigned patients after RN initial assessment.
• Charts and supports care plans opened by RN; assists with new plans as needed.
• Communicates with physicians/APPs to receive orders and coordinate care.
• Performs dressing changes, trach care, NG tube care and ostomy care as needed.
