Job summary

Cardiovascular Institute of the South is hiring a Medical Assistant supporting clinicians with mobility, testing, phlebotomy, and pre/post‑procedure tasks. You will assist patients during visits and diagnostic testing, while handling documentation and patient education to enhance care experiences.

Ideal candidates hold BLS and CMA/RMA/CCMA/NRCMA/NCMA certifications, with at least 400 cardiology hours, and are proficient in EMR systems and interdepartmental communication.

Qualifications

• Certified CMA/RMA/CCMA/NRCMA/NCMA through an approved agency.
• At least 400 clinical hours in Cardiology and BLS certification.
• Skilled in EKGs, venipuncture, monitor setup and mobility assistance.
• Proficient with EMR systems and interdepartmental communication.
• Strong interpersonal skills and patient‑centered care.
• Reliable, adaptable and collaborative within a multidisciplinary team.
• Committed to HIPAA compliance and continuous quality improvement.

Responsibilities

• Support clinical staff and physicians in mobility, testing, phlebotomy, and pre/post‑procedure support.
• Assist patients during visits, procedures, and diagnostic tests to improve their care experience.
• Perform clinical and clerical duties including documentation and patient education.
• Deliver care in a warm, professional, team‑oriented manner.
• Collect vital signs and medical history to aid provider evaluations.
• Coordinate messages between departments and update wait times.
• Maintain exam and procedure rooms, and conduct OSHA and safety checks.
• Support front office with scheduling and HIPAA compliance.
