Job summary

Good Shepherd Hospital Barrington, IL is hiring a Registered Nurse (RN) for the Cardiac Unit on a full-time basis with 7pm to 7am scheduled hours. The 24-bed unit cares for cardiac, observation, and neuro patients, offering a competitive benefits package and tuition reimbursement.

The RN will deliver patient-centered care, lead clinical decision-making, and coordinate assessments, planning, and execution to support safe transitions to home or other care settings.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing school with IL RN license; BSN preferred, ADN acceptable with agreement to enroll in BSN completion.
• More than 12 months direct patient care requires BSN or certification within one year of hire.
• Current American Heart Association CPR required.
• Ability to work weekends, holidays, and different shifts.
• Certain positions may require call.
• Able to lift up to 35 pounds; use lift devices with team when needed.

Responsibilities

• Lead efforts to create the safest patient environment and best patient experience.
• Coordinate patient-centered care across the continuum for transitions home or to other care settings.
• Provide and coordinate comprehensive patient care via assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation and evaluation.
