Job summary

TALENT Software Services is seeking a skilled Ultrasonography Technician to provide diagnostic cardiac and vascular ultrasound for cardiology teams. You will deliver high-quality images, assist in complex procedures, and provide rapid preliminary findings for life-saving decisions.

The role requires ARDMS/CCI registry or equivalent certification, BLS, and a commitment to patient safety, data accuracy, and ongoing professional development within the lab environment.

Qualifications

• Six (6) months of related experience required.
• Ability to work independently and utilize critical thinking skills.
• Excellent communication skills with surgeons, physicians, and healthcare staff regarding Cardiac Ultrasound results.
• Ability to serve in on-call rotation after regular business hours.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates correct technique, efficiency, and judgment in advanced cardiac and/or peripheral vascular procedures.
• Performs adult and/or pediatric cardiac ultrasound procedures including TEE and stress echo, plus vascular studies.
• Reviews pertinent patient data and reports before procedures.
• Operates equipment for diagnostic recording and uses transducers and digital networking systems.
• Notifies reading physician of abnormal results and reports findings to the cardiologist.
• Assists physicians with complex procedures to reduce risks, including TAVR, SAVR, Tandem Heart and related procedures.
• Maintains documentation in lab/hospital systems and supports QA and education.
• Ensures infection control and patient safety; coordinates with healthcare team.

Job Summary

Responsible for diagnostic cardiac or vascular ultrasound that provides cardiologists with measurements and accurate images of cardiac structures, enabling accurate diagnosis. Immediate feedback with preliminary reports of critical results to nurses and physicians is crucial for life-saving treatment intervention. Assists physicians with studies and aids them in complex procedures to minimize procedural risks, including operations in the OR, Hybrid lab, Cath lab, and CAD, such as TAVR, SAVR, Tandem heart, Lariet procedures, and pseudoaneurysm compression.

Job Responsibilities

• Demonstrates correct technique, efficiency, and judgment in advanced cardiac and/or peripheral vascular procedures.
• Performs adult and/or pediatric cardiac ultrasound procedures, including TEE and stress echo, and peripheral vascular procedures such as arterials, renals, and transcranial Doppler.
• Reviews pertinent patient data and reports before procedures.
• Operates equipment necessary for optimal diagnostic recording and utilizes ancillary devices such as selected transducers and digital networking systems.
• Exercises appropriate judgment in notifying abnormal results to the reading physician and evaluates and reports findings to the cardiologist.
• Assists physicians with complex procedures to decrease potential procedural risks, including TAVR, SAVR, Tandem heart, Lariet procedures, and pseudoaneurysm compression.
• Maintains proper documentation of data according to lab, departmental, and hospital policy.
• Documents all procedures accurately in departmental tracking processes and patient charts.
• Processes charging and other necessary data efficiently and accurately.
• Collaborates in maintaining departmental efficiency and anticipates needs in equipment and supplies.
• Uses resources wisely to assist in cost containment and schedules patients efficiently.
• Supports unit/hospital goals through QA and educational activities.
• Maintains current competency and registry (ARDMS or CCI) in the two specialty practices and demonstrates initiative in personal/professional development.
• Maintains compliance with mandatory unit/hospital education standards and participates in departmental QA and National Accreditation processes.
• Modifies behavior/performance to meet changing hospital/departmental goals and complies with departmental and hospital policies.
• Maintains a clean environment and practices infection control.
• Promotes patient, visitor, and personnel safety and maintains confidentiality.

Required Certification & Licensure

• Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) or Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) from the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS).

• Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) or Registered Vascular Specialist (RVS) from Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI).
