Job summary

TALENT Software Services is seeking a skilled cardiac ultrasound professional to perform diagnostic imaging for cardiologists, including TEE and stress echo, in a fast-paced hospital or lab setting.

The role requires ARDMS/CCI certification or equivalent, at least six months of related experience, and the ability to work independently with strong communication across the care team. On-call duties may be required to support 24/7 patient care.

Responsibilities

• Perform adult and pediatric cardiac ultrasound procedures, including TEE and stress echo, and peripheral vascular studies.
• Review pertinent patient data and reports before procedures.
• Operate equipment necessary for optimal diagnostic recording and utilize transducers and digital networking systems.
• Notify physicians of abnormal results and report findings to the cardiologist.
• Assist physicians in complex procedures to reduce procedural risks (TAVR, SAVR, Tandem Heart, Lariet procedures, and pseudoaneurysm compression).
• Maintain proper documentation of data according to lab, departmental, and hospital policy.
• Document all procedures accurately in departmental tracking processes.
• Ensure efficient processing of charging and other necessary data.
• Collaborate to maintain departmental efficiency and anticipate equipment and supply needs.
• Support QA and educational activities within the unit/hospital.

Job Summary:

Responsible for performing diagnostic cardiac or vascular ultrasound to provide cardiologists with measurements and accurate images of cardiac structures, enabling accurate diagnosis. Immediate feedback with preliminary reports of critical results to nurses and physicians is crucial for life-saving treatment interventions. The role involves assisting physicians with studies and aiding in complex procedures to minimize procedural risks, including those in the OR, Hybrid Lab, Cath Lab, and CAD, such as TAVR, SAVR, Tandem heart, Lariet procedures, and pseudoaneurysm compression.

Job Responsibilities:

• Demonstrate correct technique, efficiency, and judgment in performing advanced cardiac and/or peripheral vascular procedures.
• Perform adult and/or pediatric cardiac ultrasound procedures, including TEE and stress echo, and/or peripheral vascular procedures, including arterials, renals, and transcranial Doppler.
• Review pertinent patient data and reports before procedures.
• Operate equipment necessary for optimal diagnostic recording and utilize ancillary devices such as selected transducers and digital networking systems.
• Exercise appropriate judgment in notifying physicians of abnormal results and evaluate/report findings to the cardiologist.
• Assist physicians in complex procedures to reduce procedural risks, including TAVR, SAVR, Tandem heart, Lariet procedures, and pseudoaneurysm compression.
• Maintain proper documentation of data according to lab, departmental, and hospital policy.
• Document all procedures accurately in departmental tracking processes.
• Ensure efficient and accurate processing of charging and other necessary data.
• Collaborate in maintaining departmental efficiency and anticipate needs for equipment and supplies.
• Support unit/hospital goals through QA and educational activities.
• Maintain current competency and registry (ARDMS or CCI) in the two specialty practices.
• Demonstrate initiative in personal/professional development and comply with mandatory unit/hospital education standards.
• Participate in departmental QA and National Accreditation processes.
• Modify behavior/performance to meet changing hospital/departmental goals and comply with policies.
• Maintain a clean environment, practice infection control, and promote safety for patients, visitors, and personnel.

Required Education:

Preferred Education:

• Graduate of a Diagnostic Medical Ultrasound or Cardiac Ultrasound certification program.

Required Certification & Licensure:

• Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) or Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) from the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS).
• OR
• Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) or Registered Vascular Specialist (RVS) from Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI).
• BLS certification.

Shift:
