Job summary

University of Miami Hospital & Clinics – Cardiac Echo Lab seeks a part-time Ultrasound Technologist to support Cardiac Ultrasound procedures. The role involves coordinating patient flow, performing ultrasound scans under supervision, and training junior staff.

The schedule is 20 hours per week with weekends required; on-call may be needed. Applicants should have a high school diploma or equivalent, completion of an accredited diagnostic medical sonography program, and ARDMS credentials.

Qualifications

• Requires High School diploma or equivalent.
• Graduate of an accredited diagnostic medical sonography and/or vascular program.
• ARDMS credentialing body RDCS or RCS preferred; hospital experience advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate scheduling and patient flow for interdepartmental procedures.
• Perform ultrasound scans under supervision of a Clinical Cardiac Attending or Fellow.
• Educate and train new physicians and student technologists.
• Develop and refine ultrasound protocols and imaging techniques in the facility.
• Participate in research initiatives and protocol development.
• Lead team on routine duties and ensure quality and safety standards.
