Job summary

Kern Medical in Bakersfield is seeking a Cardiovascular Sonographer Technician on a temporary basis. The role operates echocardiography equipment and analyzes results under cardiology staff supervision.

You will perform transthoracic echocardiography, assist with stress testing, ensure patient care, and maintain reports and equipment. Must have RDCS/RCS eligibility and participate in 600 prior ultrasounds. This temporary position may offer health benefits and shift differentials where applicable.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or equivalent.
• CAAHEP-accredited Cardiac Sonography or Cardiovascular Technology program preferred.
• RDCS or RCS certification required or eligible within 90 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Makes patient appointments for the cardiac diagnostic service unit.
• Performs transthoracic echocardiography, including regular, contrast and Dobutamine types.
• Selects the appropriate transducers and stores images for diagnosis.
• Prepares preliminary and final reports for inclusion in the patient’s medical record.
• Maintains equipment and QA, and monitors safety and patient care.
