RWJBarnabas Health’s Cooperman Barnabas Medical Center in Livingston, NJ, seeks a Unit Representative for Cardiac Telemetry. The role supports the nursing team and ensures smooth patient flow, documentation, and communication, contributing to high-quality care.

The position runs evening shifts 3:00pm-11:00pm, Monday-Friday, with every other weekend and holiday. Previous clerical, administrative, or patient-facing experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Clerical, administrative, or customer service experience.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and EMR systems preferred.
• Experience as Unit Clerk/Unit Secretary or in hospital/medical office setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Welcoming patients, families, visitors, and physicians while providing exceptional customer service.
• Answering telephones, call bells, and intercoms, directing requests to the appropriate team members.
• Coordinating patient admissions, transfers, and discharges while maintaining accurate patient information.
• Entering physician orders and updating patient records using electronic medical record systems.
• Preparing, organizing, and maintaining reports and unit documentation.
• Supporting the daily operations of the nursing station by maintaining supplies and ensuring an organized work environment.
• Collaborating with physicians, nurses, and the interdisciplinary healthcare team to promote efficient workflows and positive patient experiences.
