Job summary

UNC Health Rex Telemetry Command Center seeks a Cardiovascular Surveillance Technician to monitor patient cardiac rhythms and telemetry data in a 24-bed intermediate care unit. You will observe alarms, assess rhythm changes, and support nurses with telemetry interpretation on an on-site basis.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED, BLS certification, and at least 6 months of clinical health care experience. Fluent English and strong communication with staff and patients are essential.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED; basic knowledge of cardiac rhythms; EKG class preferred.

Responsibilities

• Monitor cardiac rhythms and pulse oximetry.
• Document and interpret ECGs and telemetry strips.
• Notify nurse of risk factors and changes in patient condition.
• Operate cardiovascular diagnostic/therapeutic equipment as needed.
• Prepare and input test results into database.
