Job summary

Allegheny Health Network is seeking a telemetry monitor technician in Monroeville, PA to analyze and record ECG rhythms for cardiology patients under RN supervision. You will monitor rhythms continuously, report changes, and maintain telemetry equipment and alarms.

The role includes duties such as video monitoring, order entry, and phone coverage, with a focus on patient safety and accurate rhythm interpretation in a fast-paced hospital environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; or 1 to 3 months of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Basic cardiac dysrhythmia training or successful completion of a cardiac dysrhythmia training course upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Analyzes, interprets and records ECG rhythms according to procedure.
• Maintains continuous assessment of ECG rhythm at central monitor and during patient transport; identifies changes and reports to the RN as appropriate.
• Cleans and maintains the telemetry monitors/holders and accounts for monitor upon patient discharge.
• Demonstrates knowledge of central station and bedside monitors; ensures alarms are maintained at appropriate levels and settings.
• Performs other unit specific duties such as video monitoring, order entry and answering phones.
• Performs other duties as assigned or required.
