Job summary

Allegheny Health Network seeks a Telemetry Monitor Technician to continuously observe, interpret, and record ECG rhythms for cardiology patients under RN supervision.

You will maintain central monitor oversight, respond to changes, ensure alarms are set properly, and support unit duties such as video monitoring, order entry, and phones. Requires a high school diploma or GED and basic cardiac dysrhythmia training. EMS/CMA training and CPR certification are preferred; hospital experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent.
• Basic cardiac dysrhythmia training required.
• Ability to interpret and record ECG rhythms accurately.

Responsibilities

• Accurately analyzes, interprets and records ECG rhythms according to procedure.
• Maintains continuous assessment of ECG rhythm at central monitor.
• Cleans and maintains telemetry monitors/holders and accounts for monitor on discharge.
• Demonstrates knowledge of central station and bedside monitors; ensures alarms are at proper levels.
• Performs other unit duties such as video monitoring, order entry and answering phones.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
