Job summary

Lubbock Heart & Surgical Hospital is seeking a dedicated Monitor Technologist to join our cardiovascular care team. You will monitor telemetry, obtain and interpret rhythm strips, and promptly notify nursing and physicians of changes in EKG patterns to ensure patient safety.

Ideal candidates have a High School diploma, basic EKG training, and about one year of experience with cardiac monitoring. This PRN night shift offers flexible scheduling and a supportive family atmosphere in a

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are necessary.
Basic EKG course and one year’s experience with cardiac monitor interpretation including knowledge of paced rhythms.
Know how to manage electronic files.

Responsibilities

Monitor cardiac rhythms, obtain and accurately interpret rhythm strips on telemetry patients, and notify staff of EKG changes.
Record telemetry strips with lead placement, rates, rhythms, and measurements for documentation.
Ensure delivery of telemetry strips and interpretations to the appropriate patient care area each shift.
Notify nursing staff for benign rhythm changes and document EKG changes to accompany physician notification.
Notify staff and charge nurse of malignant rhythm and obtain/interpret monitor strips for documentation.
Maintain open communication about telemetry transmission and patient activity to ensure continuous monitoring.
