Job summary

Lubbock Heart & Surgical Hospital is seeking a dedicated Monitor Technologist to join our team. You will monitor cardiac rhythms, interpret rhythm strips for telemetry patients, and promptly notify staff of any rhythm changes.

The role requires basic EKG training, strong communication, and attention to detail. This is a PRN day shift (7a–7p) with opportunities for ongoing education and a family-oriented work environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Basic EKG course and one year’s experience with cardiac monitor interpretation including knowledge of paced rhythms.

Responsibilities

• Monitor cardiac rhythms and interpret rhythm strips for telemetry patients.
• Notify nursing/physician staff of EKG changes and malignant rhythms.
• Obtain and document rhythm strips and ensure delivery to the appropriate care areas.
• Maintain open communication about telemetry transmission and patient activity to ensure continuous monitoring.
